New chairman David aims to create a successful label for Chamber Business club

David Edwards has stepped up after a year as vice-chairman to become the new chairman of the first business networking breakfast club to be set up by the Chamber of Commerce in Lanarkshire.

The man behind the steadily expanding Wishaw-based company D E Product Labels Ltd takes over from Colin Dick of Motherwell-based Clydeforth Promotional Products Ltd.

Ringing the changes.... as retiring chairman Colin Dick (left) hands over the bell which has become the club's traditional method of calling the meeting to order to incoming chairman David Edwards, as vice-chairman Kenny McDonach (Left) and treasurer Ian Watson look on.

The new chairman said: “The 1700 Club has operated very successfully for more than 12 years as a members’ club designed to help each other’s business grow through personal contacts and first hand endorsements of quality of service.

“My main objective during my year in office will be to actively recruit new members from the local business community to share in our success and help take the club’s business potential to the next level.”

Vice-chairman will be Kenny McDonach of McDonach Consultancy Support Services while Ian Watson of Watson & Co, Chartered Accountants, was re-elected treasurer for a second term.
