The business background of Electricaire has been one of steady progress as it
consolidated and consistently enhanced its prized niche in the Scottish
electrical contracting and central heating market.
The electrical
contracting side currently accounts for about two-thirds of the overall turnover
which includes contract work for Local Authorities in North and South
Lanarkshire and Argyll and Bute as well as Housing Associations across the West
of Scotland.
In recent months, the Bellshill-based company have taken on
carrying on warranty work for manufacturers including Stiebel Eltron, a major
German company specialising in water and electrical heating
products.

And earlier this year, Electricaire launched a full inter-active
e-commerce web-site to promote its subsidiary company, Electricaire Spares,
which now handles spare parts for a wide range of internationally recognised
manufacturers.
The companys first expansion venture came five years
after its launch 35 years ago when it moved from warm air central heating
systems into general electrical contracting, and within two years attained
NICEIC (National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contractors)
Accreditation.
The company became members of SELECT (Scottish Electrical
Contractors Association) where it benefitted from the contract guarantee scheme
which ensures all works are finished to clients requirements should anything
happen to Electricaire.
Through SELECT, the company are accredited to the Scottish Building Standards
Agency as an Approved Certifier of Construction. This permits Electricaire to
take the building project electrics from start to completion, including final
building standards certification a cost saving benefit to the
client.
The knock-on effect as the volume of electrical heating work
steadily and consistently increased was that equally steady and consistent
growth of spare parts for electrical heating equipment.
Managing director
Sam Clark explains: From this expansion and demand grew Electricaire Spares
which gradually expanded from being a specialist wholesale business to become a
general wholesale business. With the closing of the Creda manufacturing
facility in Uddingston, Electricaire Spares were offered the franchise to look
after their spare parts in the West of Scotland.
From this and with
various mergers over the years - we now have access to Xpelair, Creda. Redring,
Hotpoint and Indesit spare parts direct from the manufacturers, and have
recently taken on Dimplex, Elnur Electrical Heating Solutions, and
Dunham-Bush, manufacturers of LPHW Heating cabinets. Now we have launched a
full inter-active e-commerce website at www.electricairespares.co.uk not
only to allow the trade to see what we can offer in the way of heating
equipment, but also to allow the general public to view and
purchase.
The company which is located at John
Brannan Way on Bellshills Darrows Estate, took another major step forward in
its progress when it started trading as a limited company in October 2006 with
Sam Clark as Managing Director.
Sam Clark said: We operate a Quality
Assurance Scheme: we are approved to ISO 9002:2008: and since becoming a limited
company, we have pursued a training programme for our employees to ensure that
they are kept abreast of all current standards and regulations. Our customers
profile ranges from private individuals to Local Authorities and Housing
Associations to major companies in the industrial and commercial
sector.
With that in mind we have registered with Constructionline which
allows Local Authorities to check out the authenticity of our data and so save
time and money carrying out checks each time a contract is on offer or comes up
for renewal. Electricaire who are long-time members of the Chambers 1700
Breakfast Business Club currently have eleven employees at their Bellshill base
including a Supervisor, four tradesmen, two apprentices, a general operative and
admin staff.
